So on December 15th I finally went to see my OBGYN since having the babies. Probably should have gone a little sooner...but just couldn't find the time. So a year and 2 months later I finally went. During the doctors visit...I was completely shocked to hear what my doctor had to say during the examination. She informed me that one of the two cerclages was still in my cervix. WHAT?? You have got to be kidding me. I have been calling in with an issue I was having for the past year and never did I think that was going to be the problem. So thinking back to when I went to the hospital to have to babies...this could be the reason I laid up in the hospital for a week and a half after Joey's sac broke waiting to dilate. I was unable to dilate because my cervix was still stitched closed. All the times that a nurse or doctor would check me to see if I was dilating, how in the world did not ONE person see this bright blue string inside me? CRAZY!! Which brings me to the next thing. Thank God that Billy and I were not planning on having more babies...because when my cervix finally did dilate...it tore my cervix a little. Which means the next time it would be a little more difficult to stitch it closed.
On a more positive note: This is why there isn't going to be a next time. Billy and I had decided very shortly after finally having our 2 little bundles of joy that we had prayed for, for so long, that we were done with that part of our lives. We never wanted to see another infertility doctor again and I never wanted another spinal again. So this past December, Billy had a Vasectomy and we are going to stay a family of 4. Yay!! Life is Good!
