Today was my 31 week visit with the MFM doctors and my OB. First they did an ultrasound on my cervix that measured 1.42". Not great...but that is right where my stitches are and they are holding up. My cervix seems firm and like it will hold strong for the next 5 to 8 weeks. Then they measured the babies. Joey is 4 lbs. and Molly is 2 oz. shy of 4 lbs. So the babies weights are GREAT! We have decided not to measure the cervix anymore, to just leave it alone, since it can't get any shorter due to the cerclage...and the next thing that will happen is I will just go into labor. My MFM doc and OB doc decided that we will take out the cerclage in 5 weeks, Nov. 18th and scheduled a C-Section for 39 weeks. They said if the babies come at 36 weeks...when they remove the cerclage the babies should be big enough that they will get to come home when I get released from the hospital. I asked her to give me the Steroid injections just in case they come early and she told me,"No. No reason to. Everything looks great and they will just see me in 2 weeks." Yippee! So excited. I can't believe it but I have only gained 18 lbs. and 8 of that is baby. How Crazy!
I am so excited that in just 5 to 8 weeks I will be home with my two babies. I don't care how crazy it will be and how much sleep I'm going to lose. I am so looking forward to hearing them cry and just having them to hold and kiss. I will finally have my little family that I've been wanting for so long and I feel so lucky to have found such wonderful doctors to make this experience a GOOD one.
My poor poor husband!
Billy went to the ranch this past week-end for what they call a "Work Week-End". Although I didn't hear about them doing any work...I did hear that they Bow Hunted Friday evening and Saturday morning. Billy called me Saturday morning after hunting complaining of a sore throat. He thought maybe he was getting strep throat. I told him if that's the case he may need to stay at the ranch or go stay with his parents because I didn't want him getting me sick. Then he called back that afternoon and said that his body was aching, he thought he was running fever, his head felt like it might explode and all the other flu symptoms you might get. So he was on his way to his parents house to get on their couch. I told him to just stay away from me and go to the doctor as soon as possible. He felt bad all Saturday, all Sunday and this morning. So he was finally able to go to the doctor today and sure enough...he has the flu. Maybe the swine flu...but since they treat the flu and the swine flu the same way...they didn't test him to see which one it was. They gave him a prescription for TamaFlu and sent him on his way. So my doctor said that I need him to stay away from me until all symptoms have been gone for at least 48 hours. He just texted me to tell me his temp is now 100.3, so it doesn't look like he'll get to come home until the end of the week. I know this is going to sound selfish...but how bored am I going to be this week? This sucks! It was bad enough being home alone all day by myself...but now...it is going to be all night too. Blah! :( I have to feed myself?! Oh well...I guess it could be worse. At least he got it now...before the babies are here. I told Suzy to make sure she disinfects everything of his before sending him home. So hopefully all the germs will stay over at The Freemans. :)

Christy, I'm so happy for you and Billy (well except for the flu part). Can't wait to meet your little ones! Take care.
ReplyDeleteYippee! Great news...but keep Billy away for sure! You need to go in the book for the smallest amount of weight gained with great sized babies. Ya..I gained 60 lbs and only had 5 pounds of baby with 2.5 months to go. Go figure! Just let me know if you need dinner or anything.
